Switzerland, Lausanne, May 16, 2017 – The recently concluded FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship brought together the cream of the world’s female volleyball players for six days of fiercely-fought action at Kobe Green Arena.

During the tournament players were asked who their favourite player was and there was one overwhelming choice, Zhu Ting of VakifBank Istanbul, who was also named tournament MVP after helping her side win their second title with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-21) victory over Rexona-SESC Rio.

Foluke Akinradewo from Volero Zurich said, “Zhu Ting is just on a whole other level. She’s an incredible volleyball player and is able to play the whole game. It is always fun playing against her and watching her play.”

Anne Buijs, who came up against Zhu Ting in the gold medal match for Rexona-Sesc Rio was equally effusive in her praise.

“When I look at technique there is only one volleyball player that I look up to and that is Zhu Ting from China. She does some really, really incredible things and I wish one day I can play like her.”

Who then did Zhu Ting choose as her favourite player? The Chinese superstar, who helped her national team to gold at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games plumped for Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul wing spiker Tatiana Kosheleva.

“My favourite player is Kosheleva,” Zhu Ting said. “She is so strong on the high ball serve and can attack anywhere.”
