Zhu sizzles as VakifBank march into Kobe 2017 final

Zhu Ting scored 18 points to lead VakifBank to the Kobe 2017 final

Eczacibasi also had solid performances from Tijana Boskovic, Busra Kilicli, Hande Baladin and Jordan Larson, but their side suffered with a total of 30 turnovers in the match. Boskovic topped all scorers with 20 markers.

VakifBank Istanbul avenged their 3-1 loss to Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in Manila 2016 with a 3-1 win at the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship Kobe 2017

VakifBank gained a two-set advantage over the defending champions as their scoring trio – Zhu, Sloetjes and Hill – took every opportunity to exploit their rivals’ defence. Eczacibasi’s difficulty in holding on to their lead and their sudden loss of momentum down the stretch were significant factors in these set defeats, but they managed a comeback in the third set with great net defence. VakifBank wasted no time and responded to every Eczacibasi hit until they reached the end of the set and match.

Vakifbank denied Eczacibasi of a three-peat win and finally avenged their 3-1 semifinal loss in Manila 2016.
