Terzic content with Volero Zurich's performance in preliminary round

Serbian coach Zoran Terzic led Volero Zurich to a sweep of Pool B in the preliminary round of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship Kobe 2017

Kobe, Japan, May 12, 2017 – Volero Zurich coach Zoran Terzic was pleased with his team’s performance in their win over Osasco Voleibol Clube in Pool B of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Kobe 2017.

Volero Zurich had a shaky start but were able to maintain their focus and win the game. The Serbian coach was satisfied with the result, as his team completed all of their matches in straight sets.

“It was an interesting and nice game,” Terzic said. “We were a bit stiff in the first set, but played more calm after that set and we confirmed clinching the semifinal spot.”

“I am satisfied as we have won all three matches 3-0,” he added. “Now we should focus on the semifinal tomorrow.”

Volero Zurich captain Nataliya Mammadova felt good after her club finished on top of the pool.

“It is good that we have made first place in our group,” Mammadova said. “This is such a good feeling for us. The semifinals are the next step and we hope we can win again tomorrow.”

Osasco Voleibol Clube coach Luizomar De Moura and captain Gabriela De Souza felt that their first and second set losses broke their momentum in the match.

“We showed our volleyball in the first set,” De Moura said. “It’s a pity we could not win because we led 23-20 in the first set. We had a chance to get back in the succeeding sets but we did not use it well. After that we just lost our confidence in the match. We need to address this in the future.”

“From the statistics, we were able to play our volleyball to some extent” De Souza said. “We just lost concentration in the second set and could not get it back.”
