Kobe, Japan, May 9, 2017 - Brazilian Superliga's Osasco Voleibol Clube tested their new uniforms on day one of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship, one of many highlights as eight of the top clubs in the world begin the campaigns to win the world title.

Rexona-SESC greeted followers back home in Brazil with a 3-1 match (25-16, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21) against Hisamitsu Springs.

Gabriela Guimaraes contributed with 13 points but said that no victory against the home team comes easy.

She must have been talking about this.

Osasco Voleibol Clube came prepared well beyond their training and mentoring sessions.

Their special uniform debuted on Tuesday with a straight-set victory against NEC Red Rockets.

Ana Beatriz Correa took the scoring spotlight with eight attacks, four blocks, and four service aces.

Turkey’s Eczacibasi Vitra Istanbul set out to start their Kobe campaign with eyes on a historic three-peat,

But suffered in three sets to Switzerland’s Volero Zurich on opening day in Kobe.

Foluke Akinradewo relished in Volero’s victory with much hope for steady play throughout the competition.

Vakifbank Istanbul’s 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) win against Dinamo Moscow complete the roster of results for opening day in Kobe.

Kim Hill remarked on how the team has improved so much in the last few months,

While coach Giovanni Guidetti was in awe of Vakifbank-customised chocolate.

But some other moments are just sweeter than chocolate in any form or fanbase.
