VakifBank Istanbul to win their first match 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) over
Dinamo Moscow in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Kobe 2017 at Green Arena Kobe on Tuesday.
The Rio 2016 Best Opposite from the Netherlands recorded all 16 points from solid spikes, while Dinamo Moscow star
Nataliya Goncharova topped all scorers with 19 points. Slotjes’ team-mates
Zhu Ting (Rio 2016 MVP and top scorer from China) and
Kubra Akman contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively.
VakifBank - 2013 champions and last year's bronze medallists - took their overall FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship win-loss record to 11-3 by dominating Club World Championship debutants Dinamo Moscow on attack, while the former also blocked and served better in the tough encounter. Milena Rasic had five blocks each out of the team’s total of 12.
