Goncharova overpowers Hisamitsu defenders in straight-set win

 

Nataliya Goncharova overpowered Hisamitsu Spring defenders to lead Dinamo Moscow victory in straight sets

Kobe, Japan, May 10, 2017 – Dinamo Moscow’s Nataliya Goncharova overwhelmed the defenders of Hisamitsu Springs to guide her team to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-20) win in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Kobe 2017 at Green Arena Kobe on Wednesday.

Goncharova unleashed 17 kills, one service winner and blocked two attacks to top score for the Moscow-based squad. Yana Shcherban added 11, while Irina Fetisova and Bethania Dela Cruz had 10 points each.

Rika Nomoto recorded all of her 12 points from the attack line, while team-mates Risa Shinnabe and Maja Tokarska nicked eight and seven point to run the Hisamitsu offence.

Dinamo Moscow and Hisamitsu Springs traded points at the start of the first set, but the latter’s scoring slump allowed the former to mount a huge lead. Dinamo Moscow’s dominance continued in the succeeding sets for a sweeping victory.
