Rexona-SESC Rio needed four sets to complete their match against Dinamo Moscow to advance to the semifinals of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship
Kobe, Japan, May 12, 2017 – Rexona-SESC Rio’s
Drussyla Costa and
Juciely Barreto matched the intensity on offence of Dinamo Moscow’s
Nataliya Goncharova and
Bethania Dela Cruz to guide their team to advance to the semifinals of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, with their 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23) win at Green Arena Kobe on Friday.

Drussyla and Juciely matched Goncharova and Dela Cruz’s 22 and 17-point performances, but the Rio de Janeiro-based team had more players who stepped up on scoring.
Monique Pavao and
Gabriela Guimaraes added 14 and 12 markers, respectively, to help their team elude the tall Russian line-up.

Rexona-SESC Rio had difficulty stopping Dinamo Moscow’s Nataliya Goncharova on the attack in the first three sets
Rexona-SESC managed to overcome the tough challenge of the Russians in the first set, but could not apply the same intensity in the second set, allowing their rivals to equalise with the set-win. The Brazilian club escaped another tightly contested third set, but had difficulty stopping Goncharova, who had 21 points after that period. Finally, Rexona-SESC held Goncharova to score just one point in the fourth set to conclude set and match.
