Dinamo Moscow end campaign on positive note

 

Dinamo Moscow players were pleased to finish with a win

Kobe, Japan, May 14, 2017 – Dinamo Moscow coach Yurii Panchenko and captain Vera Vetrova were pleased that they concluded their campaign on a positive note after a 3-1 win over Osasco Voleibol Clube at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Kobe 2017.

“We are happy to finish with a win,” Panchenko said. “Our opponents have good technique and move in a very organised way.”

“We are happy with the result,” Vetrova said. “We were able to end the tournament on a positive note. Fifth place is different from our original goal, but we are pleased with this win.”

Bethania De La Cruz, who contributed well on offence for Dinamo Moscow, commended the efforts of their rivals. 

“Brazilian teams are strong,” De La Cruz said. “They have players that fight until the end. It was nice to finish with a win despite finishing in fifth.”

Osasco Voleibol Clube coach Luizomar De Moura and Tandara Caixeta was thankful for the experience at the 2017 Women’s Club World Championship.

“We played great games here,” De Moura said. “We saw strong defence against the Asian teams and played with strong players against the European teams. This was a precious experience for us. We have learned many valuable lessons here.”

“This was a good experience, we will learn a lot from this,” Tandara said. “We just could not show enough mental strength in this match.”

Osasco captain Gabriela De Souza felt that their rivals outplayed her team.

“We regret that we could not make the final here,” Gabriela said. “We promised to give our best in this match, but they played at a higher level.”
